When Disaster Strikes

When disaster strikes within the Central, Eastern, or Southern United States, Helicopter Emergency Lifeline Project's helicopter will deploy to the scene.  In the event of an impending hurricane or other forecasted event, the helicopter will pre-deploy to a safe location near the area to be effected.

Due to our centralized location in St Louis, Missouri, HELP's response times will normally be measured in minutes to a few hours, instead of the sometimes days required by normal governmental means.

Helicopter Emergency Lifeline Project is developing a network of helicopter owners and operators based in the outer regions of our operational area.  These aircraft will be capable of arriving on scene as quickly as possible in their specific region.  Although these aircraft may not be equipped with all the needed communications' equipment etc., they would be able to render limited assistance while the HELP helicopter is en route to the scene.
